HISTORY OF DVGTCA
Delaware Valley Girls' Track Coaches' Association was founded in 1979, with the first meet being held at Haverford College on January 6, 1979. The Association has nurtured nationally prominant athletes such as Wendy Vereen, Juliet Cuthbert, Telisa Young, Kim Gallagher,
Kate Fonshell, Gina Procaccio, Dawn Sowell, Angel Patterson, Nicole Leach and newest stars Karen Shump, Latavia Thomas and Ryann Krais. From 1979 through the 2010 season the Association has held 271 meets during 32 seasons. The Association now has a total 99 teams from 5 counties in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area.
